Dear DCC,
I just wanted to write the church and thank all of you
guys for the care packages you sent to the troops. I
received packages throughout my tour in Iraq and it was
definitely a boost to morale for me and my buddies who I
shared some of the packages with. I’ve been back for 7
months now, but still received a package about a week
ago. I just think it’s cool that you guys are still
looking out for us. I’ll be deploying Afghanistan next
February so keep me and my boys in your prayers. Most
importantly pray for an end to the war.

the CIA Fall Retreat at Twin Rocks Conference Center,
Rockaway Beach, September 5-7. Guest speaker will be Dr.
James De Young on “Universalism in Contemporary Fiction:
What’s the Danger?” Cost: $170.00 per person.
Baptism When Jesus commissioned His
disciples to carry on the work He began, He called them
to make more disciples who would follow Him. They were
to be identified in a particular way - through baptism.
The practice of baptism has been a rite by which
followers publicly declare their decision to follow
Jesus, and unite with others in the community of
believers, since the first preaching of the gospel. If
you would like to learn more about baptism, or are
interested in being baptized, please contact Pastor
Steve (Steve Hardy ~ at ~ damascuscc ~ dot ~ org).

FREEDOM
CELEBRATION
JUNE 29, 2008
One favorite national hymn declares:
“America, America, God shed His grace on
thee!” We believe this to be true, and
the reason for the blessings we enjoy as
a nation. So we gather annually to honor
God in a spirit of thankfulness and
worship at this event, a time to
celebrate God’s goodness to us. At the
same time, we desire to honor those in
our armed forces, and in the various
emergency services, who serve to
preserve our freedoms and protect our
lives.
Today’s Child
Care
During the Freedom Celebration program
today at 10:30 A.M. we will provide care
for babies and toddlers, ages 0-2, in
the church nursery and offer a
Pre-school Sunday School in Room 227 of
the main church building. Older children
are invited to be in the gym for the
patriotic presentation.
