Damascus Community Church has been recognized by the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce for assisting in Emergency Management operations, including involvement in community sheltering. “The Church and its members have demonstrated a willingness to get involved in the safety of their community and try to make a real difference.” The recognition was also noted in the US Congressional record, House of Representatives. BAPTISM... When Jesus commissioned His disciples to carry on the work He began, He called them to make more disciples who would follow Him. They were to be identified in a particular way - through baptism. The practice of baptism has been a rite by which followers publicly declare their decision to follow Jesus, and unite with others in the community of believers, since the first preaching of the gospel.
